Craig Gordon - Incredible shot-stopper.
Sandy Jardine - Did not see him in a Rangers jersey but was the best player in Scotland in the 85/86 season.
Stephen Kinglsey - Very underrated.
Craig Levein - Injuries hampered his progress but was an excellent centre-half. Classy and modern even.
Alan Mclaren - Proper no-nonsense centre-half and a leader too.
Julien Brellier - Technically excellent.
Eamonn Bannon - Underrated in the Scottish game in general. A superb passer of the ball.
Gary Mackay - Reliable with great drive and energy.
John Robertson - Don't really need to justify this do I?
Stephane Adam - He was a brilliant striker. Led the line well with a great touch.
Neil McCann - His performance in the 1996 LCF is the best I've seen from a Scottish player v Rangers.

Craig Gordon.
Certainly the best Scottish goalkeeper in recent times without question. Can win you points just with his shotstopping ability.
Callum Paterson.
Just a great, versatile player who could score goals from anywhere.
David Weir
One of the best centre backs Scotland had for years and had plenty of international experience.
Dave MacPherson
Big Hen Broon. Solid centre half. Exactly what you need in the top flight.
Gary Naysmith
Even as an older player playing for East Fife against us in the lower leagues, you could tell he still had great talent. Brilliant Left back.
John Colquhoun
An absolutely frightening player on his day.
Colin Cameron
A midfield wizard, could create and score goals from absolutely nothing. Could also hit a good pen.
Mehdi Tail
I just always remember him being a great centre mid. Worked hard and did the dirty stuff.
Neil McCann
A brilliant winger with masses of pace and a wonderful left foot.
Lawrence Shankland
His goalscoring record is frightening for a team out with the old firm. And I can't really choose Robbo because he also played for us, but Shankland is one of the best strikers in the league currently.
Rudi Skacel
To be honest, this is an obvious choice. Second only to Robbo as one of the best attackers I've seen at Hearts over the years. Would have taken him at Livi in a heartbeat.

ROBERTSON
Craig Gordon - The best goalkeeper Scotland have produced in many a year, and up until his injury it was impossible to say anything other than he's only getting better with age.
Callum Paterson - A more than credible full back who also provided a real attacking threat.
Andy Webster - A consistent, dominating presence at centre back.
Marius Žaliūkas - One of the Lithuanian imports that made a real impact. A fiery character but one who grew into the Scottish game with time, and of course captained the side to their 5-1 victory over Hibs.
Takis Fyssas - A classy left sided full back. A player with the kind of profile that indicated Hearts meant business in the early days of the Romanov reign.
Julien Brellier - A model of consistency. Provided a solid foundation for the flair players to shine.
Scott Severin - A fantastic talent. The biggest compliment that can be paid is how much of a coup Seve was when Jimmy Calderwood lured him to the north-east in 2004.
Paul Hartley - For a spell there, he was the ultimate goal-scoring midfielder. A fierce competitor with a sheer will to win.
Saulius Mikoliūnas - Another of the standout Lithuanian players with real talent. Speaks volumes that he has earned over 100 caps for his country.
Rudi Skacel - Without doubt, in a Hearts jersey, one of the most talented players to play in the Scottish top flight, out with two Glasgow teams. A mercurial player with an eye for goal and ability to shine in big moments.
John Roberston - the all-time leading goalscorer for Hearts - what more needs to be said?

Craig Gordon - speaks for itself - incredible saves and always been good for Scotland. Been the difference maker in countless derbies.
Callum Paterson - a goal scoring right back/striker wherever you want to play him. A difference maker plus a funny celebration.
Takis Fyssas - proper good left back - a real coup for Hearts.
Ibrahim Tall & Jose Goncalves - Two big shithouses of a CB, something I felt we always needed.
Rudi Skacel - whisper it but I thought he was a class act. Especially against Hibs he always had a good eye for goal and composure in front of goal was at times second to none.
Laryea Kingston - flair player and always seemed to turn up when the telly cameras were there. I was pretty young when he signed and remember the fanfare and always wished he’d chosen Hibs.
Bruno Aguiar - a perfect mix between no nonsense and technically gifted. A great player and a trademark signing of hearts at that time period.
Andrew Driver - proper motorbike and if it wasn’t for injuries he’d had been an incredible player.
Osman Sow - this is a weird one. Didn’t feel he was incredible but he managed to do a job and do it well
Roman Bednar - the OG Haaland, powerful and a good eye for goal.

DE VRIES
Gordon - Quite simply the best Scottish goalkeeper of his generation, a star for the national team and a constant annoyance at club level. A brilliant career that could have been even better without the big injury.
Neilson - In my head nobody else has ever played right-back for Hearts. One of the guys every club needs, unspectacular but dependable, 7/10 most weeks. Always dreaded his long throw too.
Pressley - Possibly one of the most universally hated figures in Scottish football, it took Hearts fans a little longer to realise what the rest of us already knew. An aggressive, angry, snarling, arrogant diving cheat, but what a leader and what a defender. Never has a player summed up my general view of Hearts more.
Berra - Slightly harder to pick another centre-back in this team because there's been a bit of a revolving door in that position. Berra had two good spells at the club, and was very irritating as an opposing fan because he was so quick on the recovery and would constantly pop up with a last ditch tackle when you thought you were in.
Wallace - He first made his name against Killie with a brilliant solo goal in a cup replay, and went on to be a really good player for Hearts for many years before again being the victim of injury.
Paterson - Wanted to have at least a couple of more recent guys in, and Paterson is a personal favourite because he is a big weird player that nobody has any idea where to play. A highlight for me was him starting as a centre-forward for Scotland. I think he was at his most productive as a wide player, and was one of the most impactful players in the league in the year or two before he left Hearts.
Aguiar - Quite a few choices here, but Aguiar was my type of midfielder and one who would have thrived in any Hearts team. An all-action player, good on the ball and scored a fair few goals, but also hard-working and never shirked the physical side of the game.
Hartley - Hard to put into words just how much I hated coming up against this guy. He had the worst of both worlds as an opposition fan, a dirty, aggressive cheat but also one of the best footballers in the league. His set pieces were consistently brilliant, he could score from anywhere and he'd also kick your team all over the park.
Skacel - There are very few players who take hold of Scottish football the way he did in his debut season, particularly in those first few months where he seemed to be scoring every week. Maybe didn't quite hit those heights in the rest of his career but was still very good. Another one who had the very specific Hearts gene that opposition fans love to hate.
Shankland - The only current player I've picked, everyone wants a 20 goal a season striker at this level and Hearts are one of few clubs who have one. I also think his goalscoring record means he's vastly underrated as a footballer, though that is gradually changing the more he plays in a deeper role.
De Vries - The archetypal Hearts centre-forward, a big physical guy who can also play a bit. There have been many pretenders since, but I'm not sure any of them (perhaps 05/06 Jankauskas aside) can match up to this big guy. Impossible to defend against when he was on his game, and a great finisher too.
